Obtaining Scaph may result in random mutations. When a Wobbledog has a large amount of Scaph in its gut, the likelihood of laying Dud Eggs increases.

Poop is produced by Wobbledogs some time after they consume food.
Cleaning enough poop will complete the goals "Taking Care Of Business" (after 10 poops) and "Someone's Gotta Do It" (after 100 poops).
